Recent News Concerning the San Jose Sharks’ Rebuild Due to GM Mike Grier’s Efforts

Attached is an article by THN regarding the current status of San Jose’s prospect pool, as well as its veterans. This was highlighted of course by the recent acquisitions of Macklin Celbrini by way of the 2024 draft and Yaroslav Askarov via a trade with Nashville last Friday. Askarov, now 22 years old, has received much attention since being the top European goaltending prospect ahead of the 2020 draft. While experiencing quite a bit of success at the AHL level the last two seasons and no one questioning his ability, there is some doubt about his maturity, particularly in Nashville. However, I tend to defer to Grier’s penchant for doing his homework prior to acquiring veterans and prospects alike in determining whether they have a place in the organization’s overall scheme.
