Recent Prospect News On and Off Ice for San Jose Sharks

Attached are recent articles regarding several roster moves as San Jose continues to prepare for opening night. The assignment to the AHL of Filip Bystedt was a bit of surprise to me, given that he is the Sharks’ 4th ranked prospect per central scouting. However, I have a feeling he will see significant NHL minutes this season.

On a different note, and very good news for the Sharks, is the bond already created between Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith. Celebrini and Smith have been roomies during training camp, and Celebrini will live with Joe Thornton for the regular season. A similar arrangement occurred during Thornton’s tenure with the Leafs when he roomed with Auston Matthews. If that arrangement yields the same kind of on-ice results, Celebrini is set up for a big year.
