Congratulations to Team Canada White (gold medalist), Team Canada Red (silver medalist), and Team Sweden (bronze medalist) on their medal-winning performances at the U17 World Hockey Challenge in Sarnia. Game summaries from each contest are listed on Hockey Canada’s site, and are attached.
Much more importantly than the tournament’s results is the very positive report regarding the health of Team Canada White forward Jayden Plouffe. Early on in Canada White’s semifinal victory against Sweden, Plouffe was injured and left the ice via stretcher. As it turned out, the young man suffered no lingering injuries, although he was held out of the lineup for the remainder of the tournament purely as a precaution. At the time of the injury, the arena understandably went eerily silent. The fact that this worked out so well is a huge relief. Attached is an article providing further detail.
Lastly, the final three attachments involve the schedule and results of the U18 Five Nations Tournament currently underway in Czechia. The third attachment from quanthockey.com lists all tournament games, while the remaining two attachments detail Team USA’s wins versus Czechia and Switzerland.
