A total of forty-six 15-year-olds (09 birth year players) were invited to Plymouth, Michigan in order to participate in the final evaluation camp for the 2025-26 U17 national development team. Attached is the camp roster. Upon viewing this camp, some of the players making an impression on me, per a review of my notes, were as follows:
- The light feet, upper body strength, and ability to defend despite average size (5’9″ 147 lbs.) of D-man Christian Semetsis from Mount St. Charles Academy (Rhode Island).
- The dynamic skating & scoring ability of forward Gavin Burcar from the Chicago Mission.
- The offensive instincts, and the ability to generate scoring chances quickly from a defensive posture, of D-man Christopher Weiss from Detroit Honeybaked.
- The innate ability to take away both passing & shooting lanes of D-man Carson Scott from Hill-Murray High School (Maplewood, MN).
- The size (6′ 5″), mobility and physicality of D-man Drew Roscoe from Shattuck St. Mary’s (Faribault, MN).
- The explosive skating and elite playmaking ability of forward Cannon Thibodeau from the Toronto Marlboros.
- The poise with the puck and great stick skills of D-man Broden McArthur of the Dallas Stars Elite.
- The ability to combine excellent puck skills with always finding the open man of forward Nolan Fitzhenry from Shattuck St, Mary’s.
- The hard shot and nose for the net of forward Sawyer Schmidt from the Buffalo Jr. Sabres.
The announcement of the team’s final roster is expected to be made this week.
