The attachments detail the draft-eligible prospects in these two championship series. With respect to the QMJHL finals, the first name on everyone’s lips is Moncton Wildcats center Caleb Desnoyers (ranked #7 among NA skaters by central scouting). He has torn up the playoffs with 24 points (9G 15A) in 13 games, and is a potential top 5 pick.
Concerning the OHL, the name that jumps out to me for his quick rise through the ranks is Oshawa D-man Simon Wang (ranked #34 among NA skaters by central scouting). Starting the season with Kingston in the OJHL, he has progressed to the point where he routinely receives the most difficult assignments in shutting down opponents.
Finally is the portion of the OHL piece concerning London goaltender Aleksei Medvedav (ranked #6 among NA goaltenders by central scouting). While Medvedev is an excellent draft prospect, it appears that London’s crease will be manned by Austin Elliott for the remainder of the playoffs. Elliott started the season in the WHL, but after Saskatoon released him he was waived through the entire league before signing with London. Since then, the UMass-Lowell commit has compiled a remarkable 32-1 record in the regular season, and is 13-1 for the Knights in the playoffs.
