6/24/25: NY Rangers Reportedly Send 2025 1st Round Draft Pick to Pittsburgh

The New York Rangers, who hold the 12th overall pick in this year’s draft, reportedly will relinquish this pick to Pittsburgh. Upon receiving JT Miller from Vancouver in January of this year (along with D-men Eric Brannstrom & Jackson Dorrington), the Rangers sent to the Canucks (along with forward Filip Chytil & D-man Victor Mancini) a conditional first-round pick. The condition was, if New York held one of the first 13 picks this season, the Rangers had the option to relinquish either their 2025 or 2026 1st round pick. They reportedly have chosen to give up their 2025 pick. The Canucks subsequently sent this pick to Pittsburgh as part of a trade for D-man Marcus Petterson. Therefore, this pick belongs to the Penguins, who with this transfer will own the 11th and 12th picks in this year’s draft.
