The World Junior Summer Showcase begins this weekend in Minneapolis, featuring the United States, Canada, Sweden & Finland. Attached are the rosters for those teams. For the U.S., I noted the number of 2025 draft selections invited to the camp. I assume the same can be said of Team Canada with the number of quality draft-eligible players it boasted at the top of the rankings. At this point, however, the rosters have not been announced for its teams.
A featured 2025 pick for Team Finland is goaltender Petteri Rimpinen. Although Los Angeles did not select him until the fifth round this season, Rimpinen’s body of work internationally and professionally in Finland speaks for itself. He was chosen the best goaltender at the 2025 WJC, and also was named rookie of the year in Finland’s top pro league in 2024-25. Having said all that, the Kings may have found a late-round diamond in the rough in the slightly undersized (an even six feet tall) goaltender.
