Perhaps the biggest name to come off the pending free agent board recently is Anaheim forward Mason McTavish. After protracted contract negotiations, McTavish signed a six-year, $42 million deal with the Ducks on September 27. Other cornerstone-type players re-upping with their current teams this past week include Toronto goaltender Anthony Stolarz (4 years, $15 million) and St. Louis D-man Cam Fowler (3 years, $18.3 million).
Other activity involves a host of three-year entry-level contracts signed by recent draftees, as well as an undrafted free agent. Those include Dallas’s Jaxon Fuder ($916,667 cap hit), who signed with the Stars on September 23 as a free agent after a successful rookie camp; Vancouver 2024 4th-rounder Riley Patterson ($923,333 cap hit); Vancouver 2025 6th-rounder Gabriel Chiarot ($916,667 cap hit); and Minnesota 2024 5th-rounder Chase Wutzke ($910K cap hit).
Each of the above players who have signed entry-level contracts can be viewed on the attached additions/subtractions spreadsheet, which I have updated to include this activity.
