10/20/25: Seattle Prospect Jake O’Brien Off to Blazing Start in OHL

Forward Jake O’Brien (1st round 8th overall in 2025) of the Brantford Bulldogs in the OHL is on pace to score 141 points this season, which would eclipse the torrid scoring pace set by current San Jose Sharks forward Michael Misa in 2024-25 (134 points on 62 goals and 72 assists). Thus far, O’Brien already has tallied 17 points (6G 11A) in 8 games, including a hat trick against a very strong Ottawa 67’s squad. As a result of the play of O’Brien and his teammates (notably Chicago prospect Marek Vanacker, who also had a hat trick versus Ottawa), Brantford leads the OHL’s Eastern Conference, and remains unbeaten in regulation through ten games.

O’Brien attended Seattle’s main camp this season, and was with the big club until being reassigned to Brantford on September 22. He looks to secure a roster spot with the Kraken out of camp next season.
