Multiple Detroit prospects are off to excellent starts to the young 2025-26 season. Forward Brent Solomon (109th pick in 2025) of Sioux Falls leads the USHL in scoring with 15 points (9G 6A) in 10 games, and will attend the University of Wisconsin next fall. Also, fellow Minnesotan and current UMD Bulldog forward Max Plante (47th pick in 2024) is tied for third place in college hockey with 12 points (5G 7A) in 6 games.
In Grand Rapids, forward Carter Mazur (70th pick in 2021) sits in 5th place in the AHL with six points (4G 2A) in four games for the Griffins. At the goaltending position, Trey Augustine (41st pick in 2023) led #1 ranked Michigan State University to a pair of victories this past weekend to overtake previously top-ranked Boston University. Also, Augustine is listed by the nhl.com as one of the top 10 goalies to watch in college hockey this season.
