Attached is the 22-man Team CHL roster for the 2025 CHL USA Prospects Challenge being played in Alberta later this month. The roster is included within an nhl.com article providing further analysis of the players on this roster.
The CHL will be represented by 15 Canadian players, 5 Americans (JP Hulbert, Nikita Klepov, Brooks Rogowski, Harrison Boettiger, and Chase Reid), and 2 Europeans (Czechia’s Adam Novotny & Russia’s Egor Shilov). Klepov and Rogowski represented the US earlier this year at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. Meanwhile, six players (Carson Carels, Allesandro Di lorio, Ryan Lin, Ryan Roobroeck, Daxon Rudolph Rudolph, and Xavier Villeneuve) represented Canada at the 2025 U18 WJC team, winning gold in Texas. Fifteen of these players are projected first-round picks, and all are expected to be taken within the first three rounds. Nine of these fifteen anticipated first round picks are Canadians, led by forward Ethan Becheltz of the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires. Standing 6’5″ and having high-end play-making ability, his name is mentioned often as the biggest threat to overtake Penn State forward Gavin McKenna as the first overall pick next summer.
The United States will be represented by its U18 National Team Development Program (NTDP) club. Because this club is designed to develop players for Team USA’s U20 world junior team, all the players on its roster are Americans. Attached is the NTDP’s roster, which has one projected first-rounder in d-man Luke Schairer. Team USA has a total of eight players, including Schairer, projected to be taken within the first three rounds.
