1/26/26: New York Islanders AHL Affiliate Moving to Hamilton

Commencing with the 2026-27 season, the Bridgeport Islanders of the AHL will relocate from Connecticut to Hamilton, Ontario. It will remain the Islanders’ main affiliate, and will occupy the newly-renovated TD Coliseum in Hamilton. The OHL’s Brantford Bulldogs was the Coliseum’s primary tenant until 2023, and relocated upon the commencement of its renovations.

The AHL franchise has been located in Bridgeport since 2001. Also, in 2021 it signed a 10-year lease to remain in its current facility. However, as the Oak View Group development company is the owner/operator of both facilities, a move from the facility simply involves a restructuring of its current lease.
