Pittsburgh forward prospect Tanner Howe (2024 2nd round, 46th overall) has fully recovered from a torn ACL suffered in the WHL playoffs last season. With his recovery intact, he recently made his professional debut with the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Thus far, Howe has managed a goal and an assist in three AHL contests. Star Pittsburgh rookie Benjamin Kindel (2025 1st round, 11th overall), Howe’s linemate for Calgary in the WHL, anxiously awaits being reunited with the fearless and ultra-competitive Howe in the near future.
Montreal goalie prospect Jacob Fowler (2023 3rd round, 69th overall) has established himself as the Habs’ goaltender of the future in the opinion of many. His demeanor, lateral movement, and elite puck-tracking ability have allowed him to thrive for Laval in the AHL. Fowler boasts a record of 17-7-0 and a .914 save percentage for the Rocket this season. He also has posted a .902 save percentage in 10 games with Montreal in 2025-26.
Calgary forward prospect Eric Wyttenbach (2025 5th round, 144th overall) continues to exceed everyone’s expectations. The right-shot winger plays for Quinnipiac University, and has tallied 47 points (19G 28A) in 30 games this season, which makes him college hockey’s leader in both total points and points per game (1.57). Wyttenbach has been nominated for the Hobey Baker Award for his efforts, coming after just one season of junior hockey.
Minnesota forward prospect Charlie Stramel (2023 1st round, 21st overall), a senior at Michigan State University, has informed the Wild he intends to sign his entry-level contract with the team at the conclusion of his college hockey career. There was concern that Stramel, one of Minnesota’s top prospects, would leave the Wild organization and test the free agency waters later this summer. Stramel has tallied 38 points (18G 20A) in 28 games for the Spartans this season, good for 4th in the nation.
