Detroit Red Wings Prospect Axel Sandin Pellikka in Great Place After Best D-Man Award at 2025 WJC

Attached is an article detailing Axel Sandin Pellika’s return to Sweden following this year’s world juniors. Although Team Sweden finished a disappointing fourth, Sandin Pellikka nonetheless was named the tournament’s best defenseman. The award was his second in a row. The only other player to win this award twice in a row was Slava Fetisov. Wings’ fans are definitely familiar with this name, as Fetisov helped Detroit to back-to-back Cup wins in ’97 and ’98. With Sandin Pellikka soon joining a D corps already boasting Simon Edvinson and Mo Seider, a repeat of this success is definitely possible.
