See attached article on this topic. In reviewing the article’s content, two things jumped out at me. First was the appearance of Minnesota-born forward Mason West. I recently published his profile in which he has a big upcoming choice to make: hockey or football. Based upon his productivity during his short USHL stint this season, it appears hockey would be a good bet.
Second is University of Wisconsin D-man Logan Hensler. Given his struggles at this year’s WJC with numerous turnovers and untimely penalties, I am a bit surprised at the high ranking The Hockey Writers gave him here (#2 US prospect), as well as the one central scouting gave him in its final rankings (#12 NA skater). Nonetheless, his size & mobility apparently outweigh inconsistent play at this point. This is especially true given that at this year’s WJC he was an underaged player, and has another crack at this tournament in December.
