5/18/25: DET Red Wings Prospect Dmitri Buchelnizov Poised to Come to North America Soon

Dmitri Buchelnikov, drafted by Detroit in the 2nd round (52nd overall) in 2022, is committed to continuing his professional career stateside upon the expiration of his KHL contract after next season (or possibly sooner). Not considered a top 5 prospect prior to 2024-25, the speedy Russian left winger no doubt increased his stock this season with a nearly point-per-game effort in Russia’s highest professional league. Also, there appears to be an opportunity to advance in the Wings’ prospect pool with top prospects like Simon Edvinsson and Marco Kasper graduating to the big club. We shall soon see where he lands in this pool.
