6/27/25: University of Michigan Lands Two More Commitments From CHL Players

The University of Michigan has added forward Justin Larose of Drummondville in the QMJHL for the 2025-26 season. Larose is a 20 year old free agent who tallied 61 points (26G 35A) for Drummondville and Victoriaville in 63 games last season (37 games for Victoriaville, 26 for Drummonville). This comes on the heels of an 80-point season (38G 42A) for the 5’9″ winger/center.

The Wolverines also received a commitment from left-shot center Jimmy Lombardi (84th ranked 2025 draft prospect among NA skaters per central scouting) of Flint in the OHL. Lombardi (no relation to Detroit prospect Amadeus Lombardi), who had 45 points (13G 32A) in 63 games for the Firebirds in 2024-25, will join the Wolverines for the 2026-27 season.

These commitments now bring the total number of CHL players committed to the Wolverines to six. This includes 2025 draft-eligible players Lombardi, goaltender Jack Ivankovic (4th ranked NA goaltender per central scouting, ranked #2 in most polls) & forward Malcolm Spence (17th ranked NA skater per central scouting).
