10/27/25: Bad Injury News for Top Flyers D-man Prospect Spencer Gill

Philadelphia Prospect Spencer Gill (59th overall pick in 2024) has suffered an upper-body injury and is expected to miss the next 12-15 weeks of the season. Whether or not the injury will require surgery still is being determined.

Currently playing for the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the QMJHL, Gill will miss the opportunity to compete for Team Canada at this year’s World Junior Championship. This was a real possibility given his strong performance at August’s World Junior Summer Showcase. Also, despite only appearing in two games for the Armada this season, Gill played top-pairing minutes in those games. Presumably, he will be sorely missed down the stretch as the Armada are poised for a run at a Memorial Cup appearance.

Per Central Scouting, Gill is the 5th ranked prospect in the Flyers’ system. He sits one spot behind the Flyers’ highest-rated D-man prospect Oliver Bonk, although some argue that these rankings should be reversed.
