Colorado has signed 21 year old forward Gavin Brindley (CBJ 2023 draft, 2nd round 34th overall) to a two-year contract extension with an AAV of $875,000. Also, the Avs have signed 33 year old goaltender Scott Wedgewood (NJD 2010 draft, 3rd round 84th overall) to a one-year. $2.5M deal. Both extensions will commence in 2026-27. Currently, Brindley is in the final year of his entry-level contract, which carries a cap hit of $950,000. Wedgewood is in the final year of a 2-year deal with an AAV of $1.5M.
Thus far, Brindley has recorded 7 points (4G 3A) in 16 games this season, including his first career overtime goal against Vancouver on November 9. Wedgewood has a record of 10-1-2 and .913 save percentage to pace the red-hot Avs.
