12/17/25: Edmonton Prospects Hutson & Marjala Shine Bright in Oilers Organization

A pair of forwards in Edmonton’s system are experiencing much success in the professional ranks this season. Forward Quinn Hutson is having an outstanding rookie season for Bakersfield, leading all AHL rookies in scoring with 28 points (16G 12A) in 24 games. For his efforts, Hutson was recalled to the Oilers this Monday, having played one game with the big club since that time. He has been held off the score sheet thus far.

Less heralded prospect Viljami Marjala also is putting up nice numbers in his first season with the Condors. Thus far, Marjala has managed 23 points (7G 16A) in 24 AHL contests, using his pass-first mentality to involve numerous teammates in scoring for Bakersfield. Marjala was a 2021 5th round pick (159th overall) of Buffalo, and played his junior hockey with the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL prior to playing in Finland’s top pro league for the past three seasons.
