Tampa Bay prospect Caleb Heil is thriving with Madison of the USHL. The University of North Dakota commit represented Team USA this season at both the World Junior A Challenge and the World Junior Championship, helping his team win the gold medal at the former event. When he wasn’t attending international events, Heil managed to break a team record for Madison by posting a nearly 150-minute scoreless streak between the pipes.
New Jersey’s Jakub Malek has rounded back into form after a terrible struggle to start the year. His early-season funk resulted in his demotion from AHL Utica to ECHL Adirondack. Since his return to the Comets, Malek has posted a save percentage of .934 to go along with two shutouts. He joins fellow Devils’ goaltending prospect Mikhail Yegorov (Boston University) in experiencing very positive developments in their respective seasons.
San Jose prospect Joshua Ravensbergen has committed to Michigan State University, and he will join the Spartans in 2026-27. All expectations are that current Spartan netminder and Red Wings prospect Trey Augustine will turn professional at season’s end, leaving Ravensbergen to man the crease. Ravensbergen is 19-9-0 with a .916 save percentage with Prince George of the WHL so far this season.
Finally, Los Angeles prospect provided the Kings with a belated Christmas present. Cihar was named the Most Valuable Player at the 2026 World Junior Championship, in which Team Czechia captured the silver medal. Cihar registered 12 points in the tournament (4G 8A) in 7 games, and his offensive attributes were the key to Team Czechia’s run to the finals. Cihar signed his entry-level contract with the Kings on December 10, 2025, and has 9 points (1G 8A) in 9 games for Kelowna in the WHL upon his recent move to North America.
