3/3/26: Affiliated Prospects Movement at NHL Trade Deadline Discussed

Every year, much discussion is had over the necessary trade acquisitions of playoff teams. The prospects with which each team is willing to part to acquire crucial pieces to their respective playoff chances, while touched upon, are not often highlighted. That is the reason I found the below link to an article detailing this subject so compelling. Written by Tony Ferrari of The Hockey News, I agree with many of Ferrari’s observations.

Where I differ from Ferarri would be my disagreement if Detroit parted with Nate Danielson, or Montreal parted with Owen Beck. Two-way centers are at a premium in the NHL, and both fit the bill. With respect to the Wings, natural pivot Marco Kasper has proven himself to be a full-time NHL’er, and along with Larkin he will be an up-the-middle presence in Detroit for years to come (although Kasper has spent most of this season on the wing). Danielson will make for a great addition to that center group as well.
