Chicago prospect Sacha Boisvert (2024 1st round, 18th overall) had a very interesting week. First, he began his NHL career on Wedenesday against Philadelphia. Then, last night against the New York Rangers, he experienced his first pro fight. The fight, between Boisvert and Rangers d-man Will Borgen, occurred late in the game with the Rangers’ 6-1 victory already in hand. However, that didn’t stop the message-sending for later contests. Boisvert is still searching for his first point with the Hawks.
There was another first in Boisvert’s second game. Making his NHL debut was New York Rangers’ d-man prospect Drew Fortescue (2023 3rd round, 90th overall) After a three-year career at Boston College, Fortescue turned pro following the recent end to the Eagles’ season. He managed to register an assist on new teammate Jonny Brodzinski’s second goal of the night.
