Sioux Falls forward Brent Solomon (DET 2025, 4th round 109th overall) has helped position his USHL team to compete for a Clark Cup championship. The ultra-talented winger will attend NCAA Wisconsin in the fall. The Badgers will aim to use Solomon’s services to follow up on their Frozen Four run in 2026. Presently for Solomon, the Stampede are tied with Fargo at one game apiece in the Western Conference Finals of the Clark Cup playoffs.
This regular season, Solomon totaled 53 points (24G 29A) in 54 games for the Stampede. He looks to be a huge part of the Wings’ future due to his production, as well as a drive to be a complete player. His player rating of +8 in the regular season, as well as a +3 rating in 7 playoff games, speak to that commitment. Solomon also has tallied 4 goals to greatly assist the Stampede’s playoff run thus far.
Personally, I have had the privilege of seeing Solomon play live several times this seasons, and walked away very impressed on both occasions. At the USHL Fall Classic in September, Solomon was the first overtime shooter utilized by Head Coach Ryan Cruthers in a 3-2 OT victory over Green Bay. A coach showing that kind of faith in a young player speaks volumes, and for the player to deliver as Solomon did affirms that belief.
I also was able to see Solomon live at the World Junior A Challenge in Quebec. He posted 6 points (4G 2A) in 5 games, and helped lead the Americans to a gold medal at that event. As this Challenge serves as a kind of tryout for that country’s World Junior Championship team the following season, perhaps Solomon also will represent Team USA this December. His winning pedigree bodes well for that possibility.
