5/6/26: Cambridge Claims Sutherland Cup in Greater Ontario Hockey League Playoffs

Congratulations to the Cambridge Redhawks for their run to the Sutherland Cup, the top prize in the Greater Ontario Hockey League (GOHL). The Redhawks defeated the St. Marys Lincolns 4 games to 1 to claim the title.

The GOHL is a Junior B league, as well as the official development league of the OHL. As such, it is a rich source of talent supplying the NHL, and routinely receives the nation of Canada’s top Junior B league ranking. To that end, many of the 76 OHL players appearing on NHL Central Scouting’s final 2026 draft rankings competed in the GOHL prior to making the jump to major junior hockey. This includes top forward prospect Ethan Belchetz of Windsor (9th-ranked North American skater per NHL Central Scouting), who played for the Hamilton Kilty B’s in 2023-24 prior to moving on to the Spitfires.
