Please see attached rosters for Canada & the United States, together with a nice summary of each team’s preliminary tournament games.
It is very good to see an infusion of youth on both squads. For Canada, the player standing out to me is Columbus d-man Denton Mateychuk, who just completed his first full season with Blue Jackets after spending roughly half the 2024-25 season with the big club. Mateychuk enjoyed a good campaign in 2025-26, posting 31 points (13G 18A) in 75 games, and having a player rating of +12. I was hopeful that top draft prospect Gavin McKenna would appear on this roster, although understandably his draft preparations took precedence over this tournament.
The youngest player on the roster for the Americans is Michigan State University forward Ryker Lee (NSH). Joining him will be the last two Hobey Baker Award winners in former MSU teammate Isaac Howard (EDM) and the University of Minnesota-Duluth’s Max Plante (DET), also both forwards.
