5/11/26: Recent Detroit Red Wings Prospect News

Please see the first attachment, which is a recent ranking by McKeen’s Hockey of the Red Wings’ Prospect Pool as fourth-best in the league. Also, the second attachment is a link to my website listing the top 10 Wings’ prospects, as ranked just prior to the 2025-26 season. The first 5 prospects on my list recite those on the NHL Central Scouting Bureau’s rankings.

I note the similarities and differences on these lists. Noticeably absent from McKeen’s list is Axel Sandin-Pellikka, most likely an acknowledgement that he’ll be back in the NHL to stay next season. Also, McKeen’s ranks Sebastian Cossa as the Wings’ #1 prospect, appropriate considering he most likely will be in Detroit full-time next season. Finally, there is the presence of Eddie Genborg & Max Plante; their strong offensive output in 2025-26 is a very positive sign for the future of Detroit’s production.
