7/3/26: NYR Deal Trocheck to UTA for Nice Return

After months of trade speculation, the New York Rangers have sent forward Vincent Trocheck to Utah in exchange for d-man Sean Durzi, forward prospect Cole Beaudoin, and a 2027 3rd round pick. Trocheck is entering the 5th year of a 7-year contract carrying an annual cap hit of $5.625 million. Durzi is in the final year of his deal, and has an annual cap hit of $6 million.

In an effort to further enhance its physical presence up front, the Mammoth now have acquired former Isles’ captain Anders Lee (free agent signing) and Trocheck in the last 2 days. Trocheck is a gritty two-way forward known for his physical play, and should provide Utah with consistent scoring. Last season, the hyper-competitive Olympian registered 53 points (16G 37A) in 67 games for the Rangers.

Durzi brings with him an offensive mindset who can QB the power play. He is known for his elite vision and puck-moving abilities, but struggles at times on the defensive side of things. Packaged with Durzi is Beaudoin, who is coming off an 88-point season (33G 55A) with Barrie in the OHL, and who also added a point-per-game for Team Canada at the World Junior Championship. He fully intends to make the big club out of training camp.
