One day after inking rookie scoring leader Ivan Demidov to an 8-year extension, Montreal has signed goaltender Jakub Dobes to a 3-year, $16,072,750 ($5,357,575 AAV) contract kicking in at the end of his rookie deal, keeping him with the Canadiens through the 2029-30 season. With the Demidov and Dobes signings, the Habs’ young core is under contract through the rest of the decade, notably forward Cole Caufield (through 2030-31) and d-man Lane Hutson (through 2033-34).
