USA Hockey announced earlier this week the roster for the upcoming 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup selection camp, taking place July 23-27 in St. Paul, Minnesota. A total of 36 players will compete for a spot on the 23-man roster. Of these players, 24 are current or future USHL players, and 10 compete (or will compete) in the CHL (5 in the WHL, 4 in the OHL, and 1 in the QMJHL).
Noticeably absent from these players is forward Carter Meyer, who recently left the US National Team Development Program (NTDP) to play for the QMJHL’s Quebec Remparts this upcoming season. A potential top-10 pick in the 2027 draft, Meyer began the 2025-26 season on the U17 roster before his promotion to the U18 team. He will spend two seasons with the Remparts prior to joining Boston University for the 2028-29 season.
The player who immediately stuck out was forward Joey Cullen (2028 Draft-Eligible), who will compete for the US NTDP in 2026-27. Cullen’s older brother Wyatt, who also played for the NTDP (he will play for the University of Minnesota this season), and was drafted 10th overall by Nashville in the 2026 draft. The Cullen name already was a familiar one, as their father and top face-off man Matt played in the NHL from 1997-98 through 2018-19.
Team Canada’s roster information is not available at this point.
