My rating of the top 10 players in the St. Louis Blues’ prospect pool is complete, the link to which can be found below. This season’s top prospect is forward Justin Carbonneau (19th overall in 2025), who is projected to land in St. Louis next season after a stint in Springfield of the AHL. However, should he continue with the productivity he provided to Blainville-Boisbriand in the QMJHL last season (80 points [51G and 29A] in 60 games), a 2026-27 arrival definitely is within reach.
St. Louis continues to produce home-grown talent which makes their presence felt immediately at the next level. In addition to graduating top prospects such as forward Jimmy Snuggerud (23rd overall in 2022) and d-man Logan Mailloux (31st overall in 2021 to MTL) to full-time NHL duty a season ago, forward Otto Stenberg (25th overall in 2023) and d-man Theo Lindstein (29th overall in 2023) also enjoyed extensive stints with the big club (32 games for Stenberg, 17 for Lindstein). Both players are projected to take their place in the Blues’ lineup this season.
The Blues also have struck gold recently with respect to their still-developing prospects. The clearest example of this is Carbonneau, who was drafted just one year ago and already appears very close to being NHL-ready. Additionally, this year’s selection process yielded much-heralded forwards Tynan Lawrence (11th overall) and Maddox Dagenais (16th overall), who will ply their trade for at least one more season at Boston University and the Quebec Remparts, respectively. Provided they give strong performances to start the 2026-27 season, Lawrence and Dagenais likely will be teammates for Team Canada at this year’s World Junior Championship.
