4/16/26: New York Islanders Assign Eklund & Other Top Prospects to AHL for Playoff Run

The Isles’ have assigned multiple top prospects to Bridgeport to bolster its AHL playoff hopes. The most recognizable name of these players is forward Victor Eklund, whose recent debut with the big club resulted in an assist. He also played in eight games for Bridgeport prior to this debut, registering 10 points (3G 7A) in those contests.

Joining Eklund is forward Calum Ritchie, who registered a very respectable 30 points (13G 17A) in 65 games during his rookie campaign. The remaining forward in this prospect group is Liam Foudy, who was the Isles’ pre-season #2 prospect per NHL Central Scouting. Ritchie spent most of the season in Bridgeport, where he enjoyed a productive season with 47 points (26G 21A) in 59 games.

The remaining player in this group is d-man Isaiah George (top 10 pre-season prospect). Along with Ritchie, George spent most of the season in Bridgeport as well. George played in 46 games with Bridgeport, registering 17 points (2G 15A) along the way. Considered a top defender, George also had a plus-minus rating of +10 for Bridgeport, and logged over 20 minutes of ice-time per night.
