Veteran forward Evgeni Malkin will be in Pittsburgh for at least one more season, signing a one-year contract extension with the Pens today. The contract carries with it a cap hit of $5.5 million in 2026-27, which consists of a $2.5 million base salary and a signing bonus of $3 million. The contract also contains a performance bonus of $3.5 million (based upon games played, as well as playoff success).
The future hall-of-famer has 1407 points (533G 874A) 1269 regular season games. Just last season, he still averaged over a point per game by registering 61 points (19G 42A) in just 56 games, good for second in team scoring behind Sidney Crosby.
