Hockey Canada and San Jose Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini has been named the 2026 IIHF Male Player of the Year. The 19-year-old recorded 14 points (6G 8A) at the IIHF Men’s World Championship, where he served as Team Canada’s captain en route to being named the tournament’s Best Forward. This followed up a performance where he led Team Canada in goals at the Milano Cortina Olympics, while helping guide his team to a silver medal.
Celebrini is the first active NHL player, as well as the first NCAA product, to receive the award.
