At this year’s development camp for Florida, among other standouts were forwards Sandis Vilmanis, Jack Devine & Gracyn Sawchyn. Each stands a very good chance of landing in Sunrise sooner rather than later.
Vilmanis is considered a favorite to make Florida’s roster out of training camp this season, projecting as its fourth-line winger. In 2025-26, his production climbed to 38 points (17G 21A) for Charlotte in the AHL, in addition to notching another 5 points (3G 2A) in a 19-game stint with the Panthers. He was rewarded by Florida with a two-year contract extension (beginning in 2027-28) as a result of his efforts this past season.
Devine definitely is on the Panthers’ radar as well, playing 6 games for the big club in 2025-26. Although projected to begin the season in Charlotte, he’ll be in the conversation for an in-season call-up. He enjoyed a very productive year in Charlotte last season, registering 43 points (18G 25A) in 63 games.
Sawchyn’s first full pro season was limited due to an injury costing him three months, from which he recovered in time to make a playoff appearance. However, he recorded 23 points (6G 17A) in 35 games when healthy, and further impressed in the playoffs with 2 points in the 2 appearances he made. Like Devine, he is projected to begin the season in Charlotte, where it appears a full season at the AHL level most likely is in order.
