Steve Yzerman is stepping down in his role as executive vice president and general manager of the Detroit Red Wings. He will continue to serve as the club’s GM until the hiring of his replacement.
Yzerman will remain with the team as the senior advisor to team CEO and governor Chris Ilitch.
