Montreal forward prospect Michael Hage (2024 1st round, 21st overall) turned heads at the Canadiens’ recent development camp, solidifying his stature as a premier prospect in the Habs’ system. His time in college has made him noticeably stronger and leaner, as witnessed by his on-ice dominance at the camp. He will return to the University of Michigan in 2026-27 to continue this development. With the departure of top pivot and Hobey Baker Award finalist TJ Hughes (COL), Hage will be the Wolverines’ #1 center this season.
Also standing out at the Habs’ camp were forwatds Logan Sawyer (78th overall in 2024) and Alexander Zharovsky (34th overall in 2025). With respect to Sawyer, the winger showcased elite finishing ability while teaming up with Hage during camp scrimmages. He will return to Providence College for his junior season in 2026-27.
Like Sawyer and Hage, Zharovsky’s smooth hands and puck control shown bright at the camp. He is projected to play in the KHL in 2026-27 prior to coming to North America next spring.
Montreal’s 2026 first-round pick (26th overall), Russian winger Gleb Pugachyov, was unable to attend the camp due to visa issues
