The Kelowna Rockets are hosting the Memorial Cup tournament this year, so they could begin coasting and still be in the finale. First, that is not how things are done in hockey. Second, Vojtek Cihar and Tij Iginla wouldn’t be listening to that anyway.
In their first-round sweep of Kamloops, Cihar and Iginla each had 10 points to lead the league (Cihar had 6 goals & 4 assists; Iginla had 5 each). They sit 1st and 2nd in goals as well, with Iginla also tied for second in assists behind league-leader Carter Bear’s (DET) 6. Finally, they combined for three of the four game-winning goals in the series (Iginla had 2, Cihar 1).
Draft prospects also are announcing their presence in a big way out west. Seven points (3G 4A) by Prince Albert d-man Dax Rudolph (ranked #6 in 2026) are good for third in playoff scoring, as the Raiders have a 3-1 series lead. Also, the league-leading three power-play assists of fellow blueliner Landon Dupont (2027 draft-eligible) helped the Everett Silvertips to a 4-game sweep of Portland.
