4/16/26: Bear (DET), Miettinen (SEA) & Miller (2026 Draft-Eligible) Driving WHL Everett’s Playoff Success

The WHL’s Everett Silvertips are 7-1, currently leading Kelowna 3 games to 1 in their second-round matchup. This is owing in large part to the contributions in both zones of Detroit forward prospect Carter Bear (2025 1st round, 13th overall) & Seattle forward prospect Julius Miettinen (2024 2nd round, 40th overall), as well as the exceptional goaltending of Anders Miller (2026 is his 2nd year of draft eligibility).

Bear’s 10 points so far this post-season have him ranked 19th in total scoring, and his nine assists rank 4th in the league. Also, Bear is tied for second in the league with a plus-minus rating of +11.

One of the players Bear is tied with at +11 is teammate Miettinen, who also is tied for 2nd in the league with 17 blocked shots. As if those stats aren’t impressive enough, the two-way pivot ranks 6th in the league in scoring with 12 points (8G 4A), and is 2nd in goals.

Their efforts are being backstopped by Miller. His .945 save percentage is tops in the league, and he also has a sparkling 1.63 goals against average and 7-0-1 record. His only loss was a 4-3 overtime setback to Kelowna last night in a potential elimination game.
