After asking for a trade on June 11, long-time Edmonton d-man Darnell Nurse was sent to San Jose. In exchange for Nurse, the Oilers received d-man Shakir Mukhamadullin and d-man prospect Zack Sharp.
Nurse has 3 years remaining on his contract, which carries an annual cap hit of $9.25 million. Mukhamadullin has not re-signed with the Oilers, although he is subject to a Qualifying Offer and has until July 15 to accept it. Sharp will play at Western Michigan this season, his sophomore campaign.
