Forward Roger McQueen, the 10th overall pick in 2025, followed up a very productive 2025-26 season with an impressive development camp, exhibiting pro-level maturity as he transitioned into the organization. Also, he displayed the physical play expected of a power forward prospect who stands 6’5″, and has quelled all concerns of any lingering issues from the back injury he sustained in his draft year. After posting 27 points (11G 16A) in 36 games in his freshman year at Providence College, McQueen joined San Diego of the AHL this past spring and appeared in 9 games total, 7 regular season and 2 in the playoffs. He is projected to begin the 2026-27 season with the Gulls.
Also impressing at the camp were 2026 draft picks in forward Nikita Klepov (15th overall) and goaltender Gleb Peshkov (178th overall). Klepov, formerly of the OHL’s Saginaw Spirit, brought the high-end offensive creativity and a lethal shot to the Ducks that made him a top pick. Peshkov, a sixth-round pick despite possessing excellent size and posting a .930 save percentage this past season, was one of the biggest surprises of the summer. He impressed scouts with his tremendous athleticism, flexibility, and battle level. He is projected to return to Russia’s top junior league, the MHL, for further skill development.
