7/14/26: 2026 Draft Pick Bjorck (WPG) Signs Entry-level Contract With Jets; Move to North America Official

Eighth overall 2026 draft pick Viggo Bjorck signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Winnipeg, carrying an annual cap hit of $1.075 million. Bjorck’s contract also contains performance bonuses totaling $1 million per annum, thus bringing the contract’s average annual value to $2.075 million. As detailed in the attached article, Bjorck originally was set to continue his professional career in Sweden this season. However, his SHL club recently granted him an early release from his contract, paving the way for his move to North America.

There are many who feel the forward will earn a middle-six role with the Jets out of training camp. The signing of this contract makes that a distinct possibility.
