3/31/26: Augustine Turns Pro, Signs With Detroit Red Wings

Perhaps the biggest name in college turned professional today. Two days after Michigan State teammate Porter Martone (2025 1st round, 6th overall) signed with Philadelphia, Detroit goaltender prospect Trey Augustine (2023 2nd round, 41st overall) signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Red Wings starting in 2026-27. The deal carries with it an annual cap hit of $1,075,000, and with performance bonuses it has an average annual value of 1,908,333. Augustine will play with the Grand Rapids Griffins on an amateur tryout agreement for the remainder of 2025-26.

Attached is a link to the updated contract signings from March 15 to the present, which includes Augustine’s deal.
