Draft prospects definitely are making their presence felt in the CHL playoffs. There is no better example of this than Brantford’s Caleb Malhotra (5th-ranked draft prospect). Malhotra already has amassed 9 points (5G 4A) in 3 opening round games versus Sudbury, a series which the Bulldogs lead 3-0. Malhotra is third in the OHL playoffs in points and goals, and is the power-play goals leader (4).
The Bulldog power-play has been instrumental in its early success Marek Vanacker (CHI) sits tied for second, right behind Malhotra, for the league lead in power-play goals with three. Also, Brantford’s Adam Jiricek (STL) and Jake O’Brien (SEA) sit in 3rd place with four power-play assists each.
