2026 World Championship Update: Finnie (Canada); Salsten (Norway); Cervenka (Czechia); Gudlevskis (Latvia)

Emmitt Finnie (DET) had two points (1G 1A) in six minutes of ice time, and was the player of the game, in unbeaten Canada’s 3-1 win over Slovenia yesterday.

Norway forward Eirik Salsten scored the game-winning short-handed goal in a 3-2 upset of Sweden today. Lucas Raymond (DET) and Ivar Stenberg (Top-ranked 2026 draft prospect) scored Sweden’s goals.

Czechia captain Roman Cervenka scored the game-winner in a thrilling 3-2 win over Slovakia in front of a packed house. The victory put Czechia in second position in Group B play, just one point behind Canada.

Latvia goaltender Kristers Gudlevskis made 45 saves in a 4-2 defeat of the United States today. Latvia now has six points in Group A play, versus five points for the US.
