5/25/26: Flyers’ Prospect Nesbitt Commits to University of Michigan

Philadelphia Flyers forward prospect Jack Nesbitt (12th overall in 2025) has committed to the Michigan Wolverines for 2026-27. Nesbitt is coming off an excellent season for Windsor in the OHL, where he registered 58 points (25G 33A) in 55 games for the Spitfires. Nesbitt projects to be an excellent replacement for Hobey Baker finalist TJ Hughes (COL), who registered 57 points (22G 35A) in 40 games for the Wolverines in 2025-26. At the conclusion of his senior season, Hughes signed with the Avalanche, and currently competes with the AHL’s Colorado Eagles.

With their size and skill, Nesbitt and fellow forward prospect Porter Martone (6th overall in 2025) may make up two-thirds of a future “Legion of Doom” line (pivot Eric Lindros & wingers John LeClair & Mikael Renberg) in Philadelphia, modern-day style. Celebrated for their massive presence and ability to produce a ton of points, the original Legion members all stood 6’2″ and weighed in excess of 230 LBS. Nesbitt stands 6’5″, and Martone is 6’3″.
