Attached is an article by NHL.com reciting the 1st round order of the 2026 draft. The article was published June 23, and came on the heels of trades resulting in six first round picks alone changing hands from June 17 forward. Two of these picks were traded on two separate occasions: (1) Florida acquired pick #25 from Tampa and then promptly sent it to Ottawa as part of the Brady Tkachuk acquisition; (2) In addition to pick #25, Ottawa also acquired from Florida pick #9 in the Tkachuk deal. The Sens then sent that pick to San Jose as part of the William Eklund acquisition.
With that in the rear-view mirror, it is Buffalo here we come.
