Impressions After Everett Versus Chicoutimi Game at Memorial Cup (5/23)

Everett d-man Landon Dupont (2027 draft-eligible): Upon seeing him live for the first time since the 2024-25 U17 World Challenge, I fully understand his status as a potential 1st overall pick in 2027. He is an electrifying player who is all over the ice, applying pressure anywhere a scoring chance lurks. Then, he is so quick and good on his edges, he can get back in good position and defend. He possesses qualities reminiscent of watching Quinn Hughes or Lane Hutson.

Everett forward Julius Miettinen (SEA): Big, can really skate well, and incredibly hard on pucks, Miettinen looks like an NHL player right now. My first impression of him when seeing his size and physical strength was a bigger Aleksander Barkov.

Chicoutimi forward Maxim Masse (ANA): Masse possesses good size and puck skills, and is always a threat to score with an excellent net-front presence. I can see him playing a middle-six role for the Ducks in the future.

Chicoutimi d-man Alex Huang (NSH): There is no doubting his capabilities on O: Huang is an elite passer and has an NHL shot. However, he is questionable defensively, and gets taken off pucks fairly easily and is otherwise out-muscled. He must get much stronger if he’s ever going to play in Nashville.
