The New York Rangers’ top 10 prospect list is complete, and the link to that list can be found below. The Rangers’ prospect pool has been rebuilt quickly, and resides in the top half league-wide among most major ranking systems. This rebuild is the product of both trades and draft picks, the most recent being the selection of #1-rated Latvian d-man Alberts Smits (5th overall) in this year’s draft.
Following Smits, the two top-rated prospects in the pool are forwards Cole Beaudoin and Liam Greentree, both acquired via trade (Beaudoin from Utah in the Vincent Trocheck deal, and Greentreen from LA as the primary asset in the trade of Artemi Panarin). Both players are projected to be in New York next season, following a year in Hartford becoming acclimated to the professional game. They will join forces with forward Gabriel Perreault, last year’s top prospect who is now in New York to stay. They also will meet up with Smits, who is expected to move to North America this season and don the Rangers’ uniform at some point in 2026-27.
In addition to these very youthful players, New York also boasts top prospects having professional experience both at the NHL and AHL levels. Both forward Adam Sykora (64th overall) and goaltender Dylan Garand had productive stints in New York last season. This is especially true of Garand, who posted two wins (plus an OT loss) and a sparkling .948 save percentage in three games with the Rangers. Also, pivot Bryce McConnell-Barker (97th overall in 2022) looks to bring his exceptional shut-down game to New York in the near future, after spending three seasons in Hartford.
